About us

Background

In 2016/17 while in the throes of despair from the Clinton loss, five progressive Duluth women met on social media, in church basements, and at local protests.

Together they found a spark of light, companionship, and a commitment to find solutions to the destruction and chaos of the current administration.

We joined Indivisible and formed a local chapter, "Mighty Indivisible CD8." We worked hard, taking every opportunity to resist the Trump administration.

We became the best of friends!

Like most small groups, when Biden was elected in 2020 we let our group go somewhat dormant. Never in a million years did we imagine that we would have to resurrect our group in 2024 but we responded to the call to action. We changed our geographic reach and our name and became Zenith City Indivisible.

Our membership is experiencing a sharp increase, from several dozen to several hundred members. We are more energized and more committed than ever! We are more closely aligned with the Midwest and National leaders. We meet regularly, protest, educate ourselves, protest, share meals, protest, write postcards and protest, make phone calls and protest.

We welcome you!

Notes on our online presence

While we started organizing in person and online through a our private Facebook group, we are now diversifying our online strategy.

In light of the clear danger posed by big tech firms such as Meta (the owner of Facebook and Instagram), we decided to host our own independent website and newsletter.

We know that many people still use Facebook to share news and organize. We will continue our presence there but seek to diversify our channels of communication. Please sign up for our newsletter!
